Sunday June 13th | 1-3pm | New Calvary Cemetery (Meet at 52nd St. Station 7 Train Subway Station in Queens)

Join members of the MycoMap project for a mushroom hunt in New Calvary Cemetery Queens and the Sunnyside/Woodside neighborhoods with mycologist Gary Lincoff this Sunday from 1-3pm. They say that cemeteries can be the best places to find peace, solitude....and mushrooms. Find out why and learn how to identify and forage for mushrooms in New York City with a group of experts, dabblers and mushroom enthusiasts! The tour will begin at 1pm and is free and open to the public. Please meet at the 52 Street Station off the 7 train and we will begin our hunt together!

This event is part of the Queens Arts Express (http://queensartexpress.com), an annual spring arts festival is packed with arts exhibitions, festive events, and live performances in public spaces throughout neighborhoods clustered along the 7 train route.

The MycoMap project is a collaboration between Strataspore (www.strataspore.com), the Urban Landscape Lab (www.urbanlandscapelab.org) and Spatial Information Design Lab (www.spatialinformationdesignlab.org) at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation, Anne Yen Illustrator (www.letsdeliquesce.com), and Networked Organisms and their Habitats (www.networkedorganisms.com).
